Marguery Villas was one of the best resorts we stayed at! On the west coast of Mauritius in the Rivière Noire, Marguery Villas occupies a picturesque location, between the sea and the mountains, in a private area called La Plantation Marguery. Here, away from the hustle and bustle of tourism, you can fully enjoy your dream vacation…
Imagine: rolling hills covered with dense greenery, birdsong, rustling wind, splashing private pool and no extraneous sounds. It’s all Marguery.
And here is our villa where we stayed for 7 days! We had a Deluxe Villa (I even took a big rum tour, I’ll share it at the end of the post).
Dining area…
The bedrooms (we had 3 in total). We lived in the main one, on the first floor (the yellow one).
We didn’t want to leave the villa, and we even spent one day completely by the pool)
One or two nights we slept on the second floor. The sunrises from there are amazing.)
And what attention to detail. What beautiful furniture here. Those rattan chairs drove me crazy.
Glass walls/doors are a special love. You open it and you find yourself in nature. There it is, just reach out your hand…

The other villas are generally similar to ours and fall into three categories:
- Superior villa: the two-story superior villa consists of a large living room, dining room and kitchen, as well as a bedroom with bathroom and walk-in closet on the first floor. The other two bedrooms and bathrooms are on the second floor. Outside there is an exotic garden, enclosed by a pergola (a typical Moorish covered terrace), a private pool of 18 m², as well as a terrace connecting the interior with the exterior, where you can have breakfast!
Price from 219 € (per night) - Deluxe Villa: this large two-floor villa has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, two of which are on the upper floor. The first floor consists of a beautiful living room with kitchen, dining room and master bedroom and bathroom. There is also a tropical garden, a private pool of 29 m², a pergola (a traditional covered terrace in Mauritius), an outdoor shower and a terrace.
Price: from €329 (per night) - Prestige Villa: the Prestige Villa has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, 2 of which are on the top floor. The first floor consists of a spacious living room with kitchen, dining room and two other bedrooms, including the master bedroom, which includes its own bathroom, an Italian shower, double sinks and a dressing room. There is a private pool of 29 m², a pergola located in the center of the tropical landscaped garden and a terrace.
Price: from 432 € (per night)
The complex itself includes not only dozens of luxury villas (about 40 villas in total), but also a bar; a lounge with a library; a mini-restaurant with cooked food, snacks and drinks; a 14-meter pool; a gym and a kids’ club. A chef-prepared dinner can be served at the villa upon request (there is no restaurant). We used this service and loved the food!
Marguery also has a concierge service that allows you to organize any event (including weddings), order a car, book a trip, a helicopter, a yacht, and more!
Learn about all spa and individual services here!
By the way, with the help of concierge-service we booked a car for 5 days (but be careful, in Mauritius there is left-hand traffic, which will be quite difficult if you are a beginner)! The car was brought directly to the villa, payment and paperwork – also on the spot, without leaving home! We took the car at the villa at the previously agreed time. If you arrive and take the car at once, the car will bring you to the exit of the terminal (only to agree of course need to advance)!
In general, the Marguery Villas are more like a hotel complex, where luxury and comfort are combined with privacy and quiet!

The entire area of La Plantation Marguery is closed to outsiders. Just beyond the Marguery gates, a quiet area continues with children’s playgrounds and jogging paths, where you can relax without fear of traffic (only resident cars are allowed inside).
Marguery Villas is in a great location which makes it easy to move around without a car! Outside is the small outdoor Ruisseau Créole shopping center with stores, restaurants, cafes, a bank, doctor, wine store, hairdresser… as well as the London Way and Palm Square shopping centers. The nearest beach of La Presin is just a five-minute walk to Tamarin Bay.
We, of course, toured both the Marguery Villas area and the neighborhood itself.
If you climb to the top of the hill of La Plantation Marguery – a panoramic view of the entire west coast and the mountain Le Morne (Le Morne).
And here is the same view, only in sunset rays.
This villa and the neighborhood are amazing. So glad we could stay here.
Thank you to Marguery Villas for inviting us on the villa for such a magical stay. While we were guests of Marguery Villas all views and opinions are my own.
